Alimak Service Training UK are pleased to offer the following training courses aimed at providing people working with Alimak construction hoists the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely install, maintain and dismantle a range of Alimak construction hoist products. Training courses are held at the Alimak Service UK training centre in Rushden, Northamptonshire with dedicated classroom and workshop facilities in addition to a range of Alimak construction hoists to operate as part of a comprehensive training package to ensure the highest possible standard of learning.

Hoist Installer – TPL/TPM Range

Objective:

  • Instruct the candidate in the principles of installation and dismantling of the Alimak Transport Platform Light or Transport Platform Medium rack and pinion construction hoists
  • Preparation of the TPL/TPM for thorough examination and handover
  • To introduce candidate to the requirements of British standards, European normative and guidance information related to construction hoist installation, dis-mantling, safe use and design

Training Modules:

  • Legislation, regulations, European normative, British standards and guidance information related to
    construction hoists
  • Site survey, pre-installation activities and safe installation to full working height including ties to structure, installation of landing gates and requirements for hoistway protection
  • Post installation service, testing and preparation for thorough examination by a competent person
  • Pre dismantle activities and dismantling

Hoist Installer – Scando 450/650

Objective:

  • Instruct the candidate in the principles of installation and dismantling of the Alimak Scando 450 or Scando 650 rack and pinion construction hoists
  • Preparation of the hoist for thorough examination and handover
  • To introduce the candidate to the requirements of British standards, European normative and guidance information related to construction hoist installation, dis-mantling, safe use and design

Training Modules:

  • Legislation, regulations, European normative, British standards and guidance information related to construction hoists
  • Site survey, pre-installation activities and safe installation to full working height including ties to structure, installation of landing gates and requirements for hoistway protection
  • Post installation service, testing and preparation for thorough examination by a competent person
  • Pre dismantle activities and dismantling

Workshop Set Up – Hoists

Objective:

  • Instruct the candidate to perform all setting up, servicing and machine preparations prior to use,
    including local regulations relating to the supply and use of the hoist

Training Modules:

  • Legislation, regulations, European normative, British standards, guidance and industry best practice guides related to construction hoist maintenance
  • Mast, rack and accessories
  • Machinery gearboxes brakes and motors
  • Mechanical and electrical interlocks and safety devices
  • Base enclosures, landing gates and base frames
  • Cage and platform

Thorough Examination – Hoists

Objective:

  • Instruct the candidates in the responsibilities and duties of the competent Person under LOLER
  • Instruct the candidate in the principles of thorough examination of rack and pinion construction hoists

Training Modules:

  • Legislation, regulations, European normative, British standards, guidance and industry best practice guides related to construction hoist maintenance and thorough examination
  • Practical Thorough Examination of a construction hoist
  • Production of written reports that comply with the requirements of LOLER
